May Adrales is a director, artistic leader, teacher, and mother; she has directed over 40 world premieres. Recent work includes: Manhattan Theatre Club (Dakar 2000, Rajiv Joseph; Qui Nguyen’s Vietgone and Poor Yella Rednecks; Felicia Anchuli King’s Golden Shield, Second Stage (Rajiv Joseph’s Letters of Suresh and Chisa Hutchinson’s Somebody’s Daughter); Yale Rep (falcon girls); Guthrie and Huntington Theatre (Lloyd Suh’s The Heart Sellers); Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Yellow Face, The Way the Mountain Moved, Vietgone). Awards: Ammerman Award at Arena Stage and Theater Communications Group’s Alan Schneider award and Next Generation grantee; a finalist for the Zelda Fichandler SDCF award. She is a Drama League Directing Fellow. M.F.A., Yale, David Geffen School of Drama. She taught at Yale School of Drama, NYU, Juilliard, Bard, Brown and A.R.T. She is currently an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Theatre Program at Fordham University
